Thank GOD it's school vacation week - it was definitely needed. Sleeping is nice, for once :) And catching up on watching movies, tv, reading...it's been nice so far. Too bad it's only a week :/ But I shouldn't complain, less than two months left before I'm out for good :D

Right, so. LOTS of art today - no fan art, though, and almost all traditional. It's been building up for a while, so enjoy! A quick warning though - image heavy because the images are so BIG. Barely any of my recent projects fit on my scanner bed, and some of them I didn't upload because I'm too lazy to scan it more than once and piece it together :P

ps - Most recent KHR chapters? Making me miss my muse a ton. Also, I'm planning on making the pink-white sweatshirt she wears in the Valentine's day special over vacation week, and I'll definitely post pictures of that :D

Sorry I haven't been around much at all. For some reason, after February break, all of my teachers have decided that it's time to make my life a living hell/start amping up the work in preparations for the AP exams in May. So, my homework load has taken a giant leap from non-threatening and manageable to staying up until midnight consistently to finish everything I have to do >>

March is going to suck :< The past day or so it's felt really warm, snow almost melted, and I could feel it in my bones that spring is on the way. And today we're having a snow storm where it's expected that we get at least a foot, maybe no school tomorrow. Go figure. We only have one "early release" day in March too, so it's going to be a loooooong month.

...Although, the sophomore semi is on my birthday, and a friend of mine is bringing me~ that will be a blast, hopefully. 18 seems really old, and while dress shopping over the weekend, I got teased for it xDD

Midterms were all this past week, so sorry that I've been relatively inactive/gone recently. Hopefully it will be my last exams though, since my school has a policy that if you have a final grade of an A your senior year,  you don't have to take the final in that class. /o/

So, I had my last midterm today, AP Psych >>; It wasn't that bad but I'm glad it's over! We were supposed to have our last midterms yesterday, but we had a snow day, which was perfect timing and absolutely GREAT. I got sleep and studied sort of more. First snow day of the year, and good thing since it was pretty nasty out all day. Oh, New England, I love you so.

In other news, new layout? I want a header but while I function well enough with regular html, I can't work lj's html for the life of me. I can tweak colors just fine though 8D They match my new default icon...

...which kind of needs an explanation, lol. Last week, one of my best friends bombarded me with "YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS MOVIE. YOU ARE GOING TO DIE. IT IS SO AMAZING YADDA YADDA YADDA" which is relatively normal for us, since we share rather strange tastes in movies (Rocky Horror, Velvet Goldmine etc etc). And then she linked me to THIS: Zydrate Anatomy.

askdfjff. So Friday evening I went over and watched it. Oh my god. I am not a horror/gory/scary movie person, but this is brilliant. It's a rock opera. Repo! The Genetic Opera! It has a very diverse cast of characters (Alexa Vega, from Spy Kids a million years ago? Sarah Brightman? Anthony Stewart Head from Buffy? I'm completely serious. And it's an OPERA, did I mention that?) and the music in itself is amazing, as well as the concept, costumes...and yes, it is a little gory for my tastes, but that's kind of the nature of the plot.

It only premiered in 10 or so movie theaters across the US, but it came out on video just about a week ago, and I highly suggest renting it. ♥ It is rated R, and I was kind of...surprised? when I first watched it, but the soundtrack and characters quickly grew on me, and now I'm going to have to watch it again. ffff yes I know, obsessive over new obsessions.

...and it doesn't help that on the way home in the car, my friend was like yeah btw, I've been poking around and there's already a Repo! kink meme >> THANKS BB, THERE WENT SEVERAL HOURS THAT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN STUDYING ALL WEEK xDD

I got a letter in the mail today from the college I got accepted to (which I hope to attend this fall) and I thought it was a little weird since I got accepted nearly a month ago...When I opened it, I had to read it over at least twice. I could not believe my eyes, so I shouted to my mom and practically tripped/ran down the stairs and demanded "Does this seriously say what I think it says?!"

For my ridiculously hard effort and work in high school, I was awarded a merit scholarship that roughly equals ONE THIRD of my four year tuition.

ONE THIRD SLDKFJKLSDJF. I seriously could not believe the numbers when I saw them!

The only way I could get a higher scholarship at this point would be if I end up being the valedictorian. Which, lol, is not going to happen since there are so many other good students, but oh my god, I still can't believe it :DDDDDDD

Mostly...this is the achievement of one of my goals. I know college costs a lot of money, and I've been working really hard in hopes that I could get a scholarship that would help me with my tuition. I want to help my parents in any way I can since they won't let me get a job, and...all my hard work payed off. I'm ecstatic about it. I'm really glad that I can take some of that financial burden off of their shoulders from my own hard work. That feels really good.

So, uh. My day was pretty damn awesome ♥

What a long and tiring week! But, I did get a lot of things done that I've been procrastinating on, which...is a good thing x3 But asdklfj four whole days off...♥ and then midterms, lol. But I'm going to enjoy it while I can! /o/

Firstly, hello to everyone I've met through the most recent KHR friending meme ♥ I'm Jill, your resident madwoman KHR fan, artist, and avid movie/literature quoter (...that is a word, right?) here with a post that pretty much sums up everything I do in this journal: blather and babble like an idiot, quote things, post sketches, blather and babble about fandoms and...in general, make a fool out of myself. Needless to say, this fall is going pretty fast. Right now I'm a whirlwind of AP classes, marching band, getting-this-to-this-teacher, getting-that-to-guidance-councilor, and college application crap. Not to mention getting things together for the Halloween football game, Senior Dress-Up Day, the Luau next week...I'll be relived when November comes around and I won't be running in every which direction nonstop, as I have been throughout September.

All things considered, though, school isn't terrible...I'm enjoying most of my classes, especially my AP Psychology, which is fascinating, and AP English Lit, where I have a brilliant teacher. We've just about finished Hamlet, my paper's due Wednesday .___. We've also been doing AP diagnostic/practice multiple choice. Lovely!

As for AP French...it's okay. There are 6 people in the class; originally, all but one was taking AP, the other was taking honors-level french 5. Over the summer we lost two...so still six people, but only 3 taking AP french. Then, last week, another one dropped to honors. So now it's just me and one of my best friends in AP...so flex time is just the two of us and our teacher. Not exactly looking forward to the test, especially the speaking part, but that's quite a ways away -____- May...yeah. I have plenty of time to learn what I'm doing before then.

Not much else to say...xD Oh, right. Today is my half-birthday...6 more months to 18! Jeez, time is really flying by fast this year...the leaves of the trees in the swamp across the street are already changing color! (Swamp maples are always the first ones to change color...a lot of them around town are already red. Geese should be coming around pretty soon to...) But, according to my mother, Filene's is already putting out Christmas merchandise...Macy's was before Halloween last year too, but I haven't been shopping in a while. xD It'll all come soon enough, but for now I'm just plugging for November 15th. xD

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Okay, I know that I said I'm on haitus shut up, okay? xD but AHHH TODAY WAS AMAAAAZING!!

There's a car show in my town every Wednesday night. I went last week, which is the BIGGEST ONE (about 500 cars!) and it was great!

So I went again tonight with my best friend, and OH MY GODDDDDD.

THERE WAS A DELOREAN!!! AAAAAHH!! I DON'T NORMALLY FREAK OUT OVER STUFF LIKE THIS, BUT AHHH!


Delorean omg *_____* I was practically foaming at the mouth. I LOVE Deloreans! I come from a family that LOVES Back to the Future (to the point where we die laughing from remembering Christopher Lloyd's facial expressions) so this was amazing *___* I didn't know that someone near-ish to me had one!

This is especially funny because this show is literally 10 minutes from my house. Earlier this summer we drove an hour to the Anheuser-Busch (aka Budweiser) factory up in New Hampshire to go to the super-crazy-huge car show, and there were maybe seven Deloreans in a row...but it started to rain, so I never got a picture sitting in one. BUT OH MY GODDDDDD. MY LIFE IS SO COMPLETE RIGHT NOW--!!!!!


And see, I told you my haircut makes me look like Kyoko :D Too bad the brat wasn't with us, because then I could have gotten a Kyoko + Ryohei +Delorean picture xDD

After more than a week of not-posting and not-stalking-journals, I'm gonna have to take a temporary haitus. ;__; Sorry! I've got so much stuff to do before the beginning of school in about two weeks, which means I'm barely online at all. With an overflowing friends page (thanks, super-active communities ♥) I just can't keep up ~ xD

Anyways. Last week was band camp, which was a blast. It wasn't always awesome (getting yelled at in front of the entire band, dealing with stupid paperwork) but a lot of the time it was. The freshmen were great, especially as their first band camp, they put in so much effort :3 ♥ ♥ ♥ They're so cute!

Uh, also: the Olympics. I'm not a huuuuge sports fan, despite the fact that every. single. person. in my reigon is either a raging football, basketball, baseball, or hockey fan. But I love the Olympics! I've been watching sports I've never seen on TV before (fencing, whut?) and I've been consistently watching the women's beach volleyball! They're so amazing to watch, orz...not only the American team, but all the teams. I love watching sports where everyone is enthusiastic~

I've also learned that I'm a woobly mass of emotions when watching sports. I choke/tear up when I hear about how athletes have put so much of their lives into doing what they love, especially medal ceremonies and the like...my family thinks it's pretty funny. It sort of is. xD

So school starts in two weeks...here's a list of things I need to do. Mostly for my own reference....D: How am I going to do it in two weeks?!

Ew. Yeah. So that's why I'm taking a haitus...I'll still probably check around every few days, but don't expect much of me until maybe mid-September. ...That sounds so far away. omg. my summer is gone!

The red car is officially mine now :D I decorated it with the beads I got on vacation and a bunch of pictures that I tacked to the car (interior) roof with pins. Dad can't drive anyways, since his shoulder operation, but this means I get to drive it to and from school now :D But it also means I will be royal chauffer to my little brother. xD My car is tentatively named TURC. Yes, in all capitals. The problem is, it's not really reliable, since the battery has a tendency to drain if I don't drive it every day or so...xD

--->Side note: I realized today...that while I'm the older sibling, my brother and I look like Kyoko and Ryohei. (My brother keeps his hair short for his ROTC/CAP thing, and I got a haircut yesterday so my hair is nice and short again :3) I want to be a creep and ask him if he wants to take some pictures, which he'd probably be fine with, but that means we'd need a third party to take said pictures, and I'm not going to ask my mom~ xDD

...That was pretty long for a haitus-notice entry. But that's what's been going on/will be going on in my life for the next two weeks...wish me luck! o_____o

Went into school today and got my schedule. They've been pretty off-course lately. Usually we know our schedules in JUNE, and I actually had to go in and pick it up, they haven't mailed them...and it's August. ಠ_ಠ

Dad got out of surgery a little while ago~ He's fine, and home. They gave him a something that looks like a cooler, but it's a pump that goes up to his sling...Of course, when I saw it I was like "Wow! You got a slushie machine at the hospital :D " Now it's just the long road of recovery...(that has me doing the dishes, vacuuming, cleaning, and probably driving for the next 3 months xD)

Unfortunately I'm probably not going to be on much in the next week. Band camp (♥ !) is lots of fun, but I'm just going to come home and collapse~ Plus, I need to do more summer work. I haven't even touched psych yet. xD

Haha, too much irl ramblings.

IN OTHER NEWS:

The Dark Night was many different kinds of win. I was on edge the whole movie, and I actually jumped a few times (pretty rare for me, honestly) and Heath Ledger's Joker was amazingly creepy. I was so glad that the hype about the movie was because it was a good movie, not because it was released after his death. But I was satisfied to see that yes, he really did give an amazing performance. Now to see it in IMAX when I have the time...hmm......xD

More art to come. I've been pretty busy lately, though. Plus thunderstorms pretty much every single afternoon. Not cool, not cool. During the one today I actually sketched some KHR stuff, but alas...my scanner was demoted from my working space, so I have to go find it and plug it back into my computer before I upload any sketches. xD
